So what documents are required for China customs clearance of used machines, and what procedures an importer shall go through in importation of used machines?
The registration policy has been canceled since January, 2015 by AQSIQ. So the first must-done step for used machine import is Pre-shipment Inspection and Quarantine Inspection which shall be conducted by CCIC. Seahog will help to contact and make appointment with the CCIC for the Pre-shipment Inspection and prepare relevant materials and provide your with useful notes. The Pre-shipment Inspection Report and the Pre-shipment Inspection Certificate are must-have documents for customs clearance in China.
The Import Flow of Used Machines
1.Check and locate the relevant HS codes, and then confirm the supervision conditions of the used machines to be imported. Please noted that not all used machines are allowed to import into China.
2.Do Pre-shipment inspection and quarantine. We suggest get this step done in the exporting country if CCIC has branches there to save time and costs.
3.Arrange shipment after the machines pass the pre-shipment
4.Exchange documents after shipment arrival
5.Declare commodity inspection and obtain entry bill
6.Declare customs, customs review declared prices, pay taxes, customs release shipment
Overall, the importation of used machines is much more complex then regular goods imports. So it is very important to find a competent China customs broker with experiences and expertise.
