The classification of olive oil. 

Based on China national standards, pre-packed olive oil is classified into virgin olive oil (physical processed), refined olive oil and blended olive oil. 

Virgin olive oil can further be classified to extra virgin, medium-grade Virgin and Virgin olive lamp oil which can not be eaten directly. 

The required documents for handling customs clearance of olive oil 

Automatic import license, certificate of origin, sanitary certificate, nutrition facts test report, bottling date certificate, sales contract, invoice and packing list.

Chinese label for olive oil

The Chinese label for olive oil shall indicate name of the olive oil, ingredients, country of origin, net weight, storage condition, importer/name, address and contact info, packing list, production date, shelf life, nutrition facts table, content of trans-fatty acids. Chinese label for virgin olive oil shall also indicate the packing year of the olive fruits.

How to Import and Clear Used Furniture in Guangzhou and Shanghai ?

Chinese market has been sought after import furniture in recent years. The quantity of the Chinese enterprises that act as agents of foreign future brands has been increasing. What is more, some big supermarkets have started to import furniture brands from Europe and USA intensively. Here comes one question: can second-hand/used furniture be imported to China? The answer is yes. 

Seahog logistics, a China customs broker and door to door import/export solution provider since 1997, has been helping the importation and customs clearance in China for used furniture from all over the world. We share three China customs declaration sheets for imported second-hand furniture. The first one was for a shipment with Italian used furniture, cleared by Seahog’s Shanghai customs agent team. Based on our rich experience in handling China customs declaration for used furniture, we will would to share the basic required documents for importing used furniture : packing list, invoice, sales contract, sea/air waybill,  declaration elements like name of furniture, brand, model, manufacturer, weight, dimensions, materials, usage etc,. Also we have to mentioned that other documents will be required in below circumstances:

1.Certificate of origin,  some customs districts require it, for example Tianjin customs

2.Phytosanitary certificate for furniture made of wood,  some customs districts in Guangzhou require it .

3.CITES for furniture made of endangered wood, red siamese furniture, for example

4.CCC certificate and/or energy efficiency label, mainly for lamps and lanterns and household electrical appliance. 

We also want to highlight below key points that foreign exporters and Chinese importers of used furniture shall be aware of and pay attention to:

1. It is always suggested to use a professional China customs agent

2. It is very important to get the used furniture cleaned so as to avoid being judged by China customs as solid waste which will lead to huge amount of fines and being returned. 

3. Many South American countries and Southeast Asia countries issue official documents in hand-written format which easily have mistakes. So it is better to send the scan copy of the required docs to the China customs broker in advance for preview so as to spot and correct the mistake in time and to ensure there will be no delay in initiating China customs declarations.

4. Before shipping, consult with the China customs agency company to choose a suitable port of discharge where the customs has less documentation requirements. 

5. If the shipment contains lamps and lanterns, shall check if the supplier can provide CCC certificate or not, or check if the China customs clearance agent can fix the CCC certificate issue.

Shunde Port Import Clearance Case: Peat Soil from Poland

In some low plains in which rivers and lakes deposit and mountain valleys with rich aquatic vegetation, a lot of plant residues that have not been sufficiently decomposed accumulate in lack of oxygen and form soil with pear layers. This type of soil is known as peat soil. Peat Soil is very suitable to grow flowers as it is loose and breathable. Please note that peat soil is not soil. It is Peat (peat) (in swamp (wetland), the organic ore body formed by the dead and rotten accumulation of aboveground plants (whether dry or wet)). Notes for China customs clearance handling of peat soil
1.exporting country or region not has big plant epidemic
2.The peat soil shall be newly compound or processed. From production done to arrival in China, it shall not exceed four months.
3.The peat soil shall not be used before arriving in our country.
4.The peat soil shall not contain soil.
The required documents for handling China customs clearance of imported peat soil include invoice, packing list, phytosanitary certificate, and certificate of origin.

The hs code for peat soil is 2703000010, with 13% value added tax, 5% import duty(temporary 3%).
The total import tax rate(value added tax + import duty ) is 16.39%

Guangzhou Airport Import Customs Clearance: Household Electric Appliances from Netherlands

Household electric appliances (HEA), also known as domestic electric appliances, mainly refer to all kinds of electric appliance and electronic apparatus used in households and similar places.
